Welcome to Brent Lodge Bird & Wildlife Trust

Brent Lodge Bird & Wildlife Trust is a wildlife hospital. We are located near to Chichester, in the South of England. We are dedicated to the treatment, rehabilitation and release of injured wild birds and mammals. For every creature that our supporters enable us to nurse back to health, the difference between life and death is not only relevant to itself but also it's potential future offspring!

In a world where our wildlife is coming under ever increasing threat, enabling individual creatures to return to breed in the wild is taking on increasing ecological importance with every passing year.

We are a voluntary organisation, funded entirely by our supporters, without whom we would be unable to survive!

Garden birds at risk from feeders

Researchers at the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) are concerned that garden bird feeders could be putting birds at risk.

A 13-year study has found that the salmonella infection can build up on feeders and then spread among birds.

The study revealed that greenfinches and house sparrows appeared to be particularly vulnerable to the disease.

Bird lovers are being advised to disinfect feeders regularly to minimise the risk of infection.
